No thrills at Thringstone
Ingles – 0
Wolves Sporting CFC – 0
12th August 2023
A game of very few clear-cut chances played out at the Thringstone Miners Social Centre as Wolverhampton Sporting Community held Ingles to a goalless stalemate, the first half saw the better chances before the second period became very stop-start with substitutions and injuries.
The visitor’s best chances all came in the opening half an hour before the hosts came back into the game, but neither really looked likely to break the deadlock, a little too much endeavour saw a second forty-five minutes plagued by whistle or waving flag.
Sporting should have scored with two great chances in the first thirty minutes of the game, but a header wide was closely followed by the ball sailing through a crowded penalty area and away to safety, they then hit the post but from there the hosts came back into the contest.
Just before the break Ben Tansley was played in behind the gold & amber backline and away on goal, his deflected shot did bounce towards the unguarded net however three covering defenders meant there was never any real danger of it crossing the line.
After the break too many passes were overhit or misplaced, crosses too deep and play never allowed any time on the ball, all very stop-start with a succession of cards, a late chance dragged wide for Wolves summing up the game in general. F/T: 0-0
Attendance: 41
