Oxford And Wargrave Are Neck And Neck At The Top.
Oxford continue to lead the table by a single point after a 63-run success over Thame Town at Church Meadow.
Jack Wilkins side posted 218 all out in 55.3 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Gaajuran Ganagabalan (44), Julian Laird (47) and Dylan Swanepoel (45) all made runs despite Dinny Malan continuing his rich vein of form with four for 43 from 17.3 overs.
Wilkins (3-12) opening burst put Oxford in a strong permission before left-arm spinner Alfie Smethurst picked up four for 24 from seven overs to give the leaders maximum points.
Wargrave are hot on Oxford’s tail after they produced a 96-run win over a Gerrards Cross side who were third at the start of play.
Rhys Lewis won the toss for Wargrave and opened up with 63, while Mayank Gudimetla (37) and Jayden Barson (47) added valuable runs. Andrew MacEwen’s run-a-ball 92 took the home side to 296 for 8 from their 58 overs. Teddy Fleming’s left-arm spin claiming five for 94 from 18 overs.
Ben Spencer top scored in the chase with 71 from just 63 balls, including 11 boundaries, as Bucks EPP product Matthew Pannett added to his two wickets with 34. The visitors were undone by the left-arm spin of Nilesh Bhandari (5-65) who, not for the first time this season, claimed five victims as Gerrards Cross were dismissed for 200 in 47 overs.
Datchet are the form team in the division after they recorded their fourth successive win with an eight-wicket victory over Horspath.
Leo Fountain set up the win with five for 42 from 15 overs of seam, while David Scott spun out the Horspath middle order to finish with figures of three for 46. Only Sravan Konidena (34) and Vivek Narayan (32) recording scores in Horspath’s 163 all out in 45.2 overs.
Jack Laraman stroked another undefeated knock as the opener made 81 at the top of the order after scoring 59 not out and 74 not out in his previous two innings. The left-hander had Joshua Jayasingh (31) and Scott (30 not out) join him as they wrapped up the points in 37 overs.
Matt Rance’s all-round display gave Chesham a much-needed eight-wicket win over Challow & Childrey at The Meadow.
Chesham showed they are still fighting after being deducted 96 points over a player visa issue. Rance returned with three for 38, while Moteeb Syed claimed three for 23 as Challow & Childrey were bowled out for 166 in 47.2 overs after electing to bat after calling the coin toss correctly. Only George Beard (32) and Harvey Eltham (47) troubling the scorers.
Rance then hit 16 boundaries in an 89-ball, 86 runs as he shared an opening stand of 142 with Daniel Ward, who hit 66 from 55 balls (6x4s & 3x6s). Rance seeing his side home in just 28 overs.
Ickenham produced a dramatic one-wicket win to register a valuable 25 points at Stoke Green.
The visiting last pair added 19 runs to get their side across the line with Luke O’Driscoll finishing unbeaten on a brilliant 47. He guided his side to their target with Raihan Hussain. Passikku Madusanka picked up his fourth five-wicket haul for the season to take his total number of victims to 37 as the division’s leading wicket taker. Tegh Sehgal (3-30) proved to be a useful support.
Earlier, Stoke Green were blown away by Krissie Mistry’s six for 22 from 12.4 overs, while Nikhil Nair took three for 36 as the home side were bowled out for 101 in 33.4 overs. Skipper Karanpreet Singh’s 31 the only contribution.
