Datchet Are the New Leaders In The 2026 Home Counties Premier League, Division Two Table.
Jack Laraman’s stunning all-round display gave Datchet their sixth successive red ball win as they defeated Chesham by 117 runs at The Meadow.
After electing to bat first, Laraman caressed an undefeated 137, including 15 fours and 2 sixes, as he shared partnerships of 89 with Tom Bevan (52) and 112 with Nick Kimber (56). David Scott hit a 54-ball 64 runs (8x4s & 2x6s) as he and Laraman took their side to 326 for 3 (58 overs) with an unbeaten stand of 119. Laraman has now scored an amazing 372 runs without being dismissed with scores of 74, 59, 81, 21 and 137 not out. Moteeb Syed claimed three for 71 from 19 overs.
In reply, Daniel Ward got 78 at the top of the order for Chesham, while Daksh Sabherwal (36) and Moiz Rana (32) also contributed. Laraman capped a brilliant display with four for 45 from 11.4 overs, while his spin colleague Rahim Akhtar, returned with excellent figures of five for 41 from 13 overs. Chesham eventually bowled out for 209 in 44.4 overs.
Despite having the same number of points (248), Datchet are top by the virtue of having fewer defeats than Oxford (three plays four).
Mornings leaders Oxford suffered a six wicket loss at Gerrards Cross to drop to second in the table.
The Romans posted 141 all out in 42.4 overs as only opener Gaajuran Ganagabalan made runs. His 59 sees him the division’s leading run scorer on 557 for the season. James Dalby took four for 56, Teddy Fleming three for 24 and Harry Spear three for 35 doing the damage for the home side.
Henry Walsh (31) and Matthew Pannett (41 not out) helped their side reach the target four down in 37 overs.
Berkshire duo Rhys Lewis and Euan Woods combined to give Wargrave a 131-run success against Challow & Childrey.
Captain Lewis led from the front after winning the toss as he made a brilliant unbeaten 137, including 16 boundaries, opening the innings. Mayank Gudimetla chipped in with 53 as he shared a third wicket stand of 112 with his skipper. Lewis took the decision to declare after 54 overs on 275 for 6. Conor Jones (3-68) the best of the Challow & Childrey bowling.
Woods left-arm spun Challow & Childrey out with his spell of five for 38 from 16.2 overs, while Mark Firth (3-46) was again in wickets. Theo Hutt batting at nine recorded a quickfire half century, all in boundaries, from just 21 balls (5x4s & 5x6s) in a whirlwind 27 minutes. Woods taking the match-winning wicket as Challow & Childrey were removed for 144 in 33.2 overs.
Stoke Green hosted a dramatic low scoring victory against Horspath by the margin of just two runs.
After electing to bat, Stoke Green found runs were hard to come by as skipper Karanpreet Singh (28) and Passikku Madusanka (29) top scored. Jehan Mohammed outstanding spell of four for 38 from 13 overs for the visitors saw Green dismissed for 114 in 45.1 overs.
Horspath’s chase saw Tom Nicholls make a run-a-ball 43, as they edged towards their target but losing wickets on the way as five players got ducks. The last pair combined to add 16 runs before last man Sam Leslie was adjusted leg before as Horspath succumbed to 112 all out in 29.3 overs. Adnan Malik produced five for 23 from eight overs, while the division’s leading wicket taker Madusanka, with 41 victims, took three for 36 from eleven overs, to give Green maximum points.
The only draw of the day saw Thame Town and Ickenham share the spoils at Church Meadow.
After being invited to bat first, Town posted 264 all out in 56.3 overs. Opener Evan Cowley made 35, Ubaid Kiani stroked a patient 75 while Dinny Malan hammered 46 from just 29 deliveries. Nikhil Nair’s four for 73 from 14.3 overs, Yawar Tariq took three for 54 and Ariyen Patel’s three for 50 claiming the poles for the visitors.
Ickenham skipper Elliot Evans opened up with 63, while Vivek Nair added 59 but it was the experience of Malan, who picked up four for 34 from sixteen tidy overs to take his tally to 40 for the campaign. The visitors played out the game to finish on 195 for 8 from 53 overs.
